Happy New Year! This is it! The time of year to make plans and set those goals to make your dreams come true. Have you made your 2019 resolutions? I haven’t just yet and I am in no rush to do so. This year, I want to ease into it. For me, making goals and resolutions should be a mindful practice done with a quiet, peaceful mind fully open to possibilities. And to achieve that, I rely on my meditation practice.
Those who attend yoga or meditation classes are probably used to hearing the word sankalpa. This Sanskrit word (sankalpa) means an intention, vow or a strong commitment to a particular goal. It is a single-minded focus. As we start the new year, the energy of sankalpa in the form of millions of us setting new year’s resolutions is particularly strong. Let’s use the strength of that energy to boost our willpower to accomplish what we wish. Wishing you a blessed 2019! Love, Anietie
