Several times this winter, I've found myself wanting to go into hibernation mode, staying in and filling my days with sleeping, eating and streaming. Does the winter bring on fatigue and sluggishness for you too? Perhaps a winter vacation or staycation would have been nice. But instead, I powered through, meeting deadlines and reaching new goals. My secret to beating that winter sluggishness is getting outside for brisk walks in the sun and yoga! ☀️🧘🏾♀️ Both these activities greatly boost my energy and mood. And it doesn't take much. Research shows spending 20 minutes outside 3 times a week reduces stress and boosts mood, cognition and memory. So get outside and feel better! 🤸🏽♀️🌼🦋🌳 And if you can't spare 20 minutes, start with 10 minutes. Every bit helps! The same thing is true for yoga - even a little bit makes you feel better. I often practice yoga at night after spending most of the day sitting at my desk. My night practices may be as short as ten minutes, but they have a HUGE impact on my mood and my body, working out the day's tension, stress and muscle aches. And yoga before bed makes my sleep much sweeter! 🧘🏾♀️🛌 Log on and practice online yoga with me on Saturdays at 12:30pm Central. We're doing a yoga practice followed by breath work and a guided meditation. Come experience how just a little bit goes a long way! My yoga classes are perfect for beginners, those who are "out of shape" and the self-proclaimed inflexible. So just come! 😂
